Who makes Chateau wine?
We have a team approach to winemaking at Chateau St. Croix, but Owner and Head Winemaker Irv Geary leads that team. Irv has been Head Winemaker at other local wineries and grows grapes at his vineyard in Minnesota.
Hired as Head Winemaker in 2014, Matthew Scott has been integral in shaping our current selection of wines. Matthew was assistant winemaker the first 3 years the Chateau was open and we welcomed his return to the winery in 2014. This team approach brings more than 30 years of experience to the table.
Do you make the Wisconsin White wine?
Yes we do! We produced the Wisconsin White (La Crescent) wine that earned Gold at the San Francisco International Wine Competition. This cold climate grown wine is a must try for all visiting the Chateau.
Do you make Port Wine?
Yes, we are know for making ports and have recently released an 11 year aged Zinfandel Port. We invite you to sample one or two of our 5 port offerings. Since these are small production wines, we may only have 2-3 available for sampling.
