Chateau St. Croix Winery strives to produce premium wines with integrity that sets the new standard for excellence in the Upper Midwest. The estate winery is based off of a traditional French chateau featuring a cozy and serene wine tasting experience. As a fully integrated winery, we are able to offer distinguished wines for all to enjoy. Who runs the winery?
Chateau St. Croix Winery is owned and operated by Irv Geary. James Peterson is our Tasting Room Manager!
When can I taste wine?
Wine tasting is offered during our regular business hours at a cost of $12 per person for a standard tasting or $15 per person that comes with a take-home glass. Plan on at least 30 minutes for your tasting and up to an hour during the fall months. We stop selling wine tastings 20 min to closing time, so plan your visit accordingly. *Not available during select festivals, please call the winery for availability
Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are not required for wine tastings, unless you choose our private tour and tasting experience. Visit our events page for more information about private tour and tasting options.
When are the walk in tours?
We host a free tour on Saturday and Sunday at 12:00pm. Our standard tours are about 30 minutes long and involve walking and standing while listening to the tour guide.
Can I bring my kids to the winery?
Absolutely! We are family friendly.
Can my dog visit the Chateau?
Yes, dogs can visit. They must be on a leash and for health code reasons are not allowed in the buildings.
Is there food at the winery?
We have a wonderful deli with cheese platters, salami and chocolates. There is not a restaurant at the winery.
Is the winery handicap accessible?
Yes, the entire winery is accessible. There are no stairs to navigate.
Do you host weddings?
Yes. Large weddings, of up to 200 people take place on our patio from May - September. We host small weddings of 75 people or less year round.
If we have a wedding or private party at the winery are you open?
We are closed on the day of a wedding. Please look at our event calendar or our Facebook page to find out when we are open.
Do you have a place to stay at the winery?
We do not have a B&B or hotel on site, please visit our Area Attractions page for a list of local lodging options.
Who makes Chateau wine?
We have a team approach to winemaking at Chateau St. Croix, but Owner and Head Winemaker Irv Geary leads that team. Irv has been Head Winemaker at other local wineries and grows grapes at his vineyard in Minnesota.
